Visiting Max

Posted by r4m0ns | News | 11:54 PM

He’s fit, he’s healthy … and he’s pretty damned angry.

LOS ANGELES — The letter came about two weeks ago.

“Concerning your request to visit me, you are all set and can come down at your convenience,” it said. “Friday nights are the best, and if you get here at 5 o’clock, you won’t have to wait more than a few minutes.”

This was good news, since I’d been waiting for more than three weeks after filing the proper form for the Bureau of Prisons to notify me that it was okay to visit Paul Little, aka Max Hardcore, and when it seemed as if the permission would never arrive, I wrote to Paul and asked if there was any way he could find out on his end if I’d been okayed?

‘Naked Ambition’ Movie Opens to Public May 1

Posted by redrose | Announcement,News | 11:01 PM

The movie of the same name as famed celebrity photographer Michael Grecco’s coffee table book “Naked Ambition: An R-Rated Look At An X-Rated Industry” opens to the public May 1, but AVN will host a red carpet event for the film the day before.

Naked Ambition, from Lantern Lane Entertainment in association with KHG Documentary Productions, offers an unabashed peek under the silken covers of one of the few remaining concealed idiosyncrasies of pop culture: the multi-billion dollar porn industry.

The AVN-hosted premiere is set for 7:30 p.m. April 30 at the Laemmle Sunset 5 Theatre. More details on the event will be released soon.

The film takes the audience to a surreal setting, where thousands travel each January: the AVN Adult Movie Awards – often referred to as “the Oscars of Porn.” Culling from two recent AVN awards shows and conventions, Grecco gained access backstage and in every other area of the four-day Las Vegas pornography extravaganza. The result is a unique look that captures artistic, revealingly human portraits of porn stars and filmmakers, both legends and literal newcomers. Along with human subjects, the documentary features provocative props, hardware, footwear, sex toys and gadgets used exclusively in the adult industry.

Naked Ambition, An R-Rated Look At An X-Rated Industry will titillate and surprise because of the journeys these X-rated performers made from anonymity to erotic stardom.

“It’s a film about the industry,” Grecco said. “It’s not an industry film. This is not an industry of human casualties, but an eclectic collection of astute, enterprising sexual artists. Some of their stories absolutely boggle the mind.”

The film was inspired by the making of the book, which features breathtaking photographs of several people involved in the industry, and with guest forewords by Flynt Publications entrepreneur Larry Flynt (Hustler, Hustler Casino) and musician Dave Navarro (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane’s Addiction).

Egypt ‘wife swap’ couple jailed

Posted by r4m0ns | News | 12:04 AM

An Egyptian couple accused of engaging in sex sessions with other couples have been jailed by a Cairo court.

The man, a 48-year-old civil servant, was given seven years, his 37-year-old schoolteacher wife got three years.

The judge described the case as one of the worst crimes committed. But the couple’s lawyer said the sentence was “very harsh” and they would appeal.

Extra-marital sex is illegal in Egypt, where the constitution says Islamic law is the main source of legislation.

The pair were arrested in October 2008 on prostitution charges after they posted adverts on the internet for couples interested in sex parties.

A long-standing law in Egypt allows people to be prosecuted for prostitution for having extra-marital sex even if no money changes hands.

‘A little fun’

According to the court, the couple used the aliases Magdy and Samira to organise wife-swapping parties and orgies and admitted having sex with three other couples.

However their lawyer said after the judgement that they had only confessed to “having a little fun on the internet, not to having sexual relations outside their marriage.”

Ayman al-Saadi told AFP news agency the sentence passed on Saturday by a court in the suburb of Agouza was “very harsh”.

“Even people accused of apostasy have not received such harsh sentences,” he said.

According to Egyptian press reports at the time of their arrest, the pair interviewed some 44 couples, usually at coffee shops in central Cairo, before swapping partners.

They were said to have turned down more than 40 couples because they were not officially married, causing concern that they would not guarantee confidentiality.

BARELY (IL)LEGAL

Posted by r4m0ns | Legal,News | 12:00 AM

Did you hear the one about the porn star from West Virginia? No, really…

Sexual entrepreneur Alexandria Imperial was recently arrested for “employing a minor for sexually explicit conduct” when a 17-year-old girl was found shaking her ta-ta’s at a lady-patron in the West Virginia strip club that Imperial owns with her husband, Brett. No, we didn’t say, “Bret”.

Imperial, who performs under the names “Alex Monroe” or “Alisandra” in classics such as “Seduced by a Cougar,” did little to disprove the stereotype of the dumb-ass Southerner when she bragged to half the club that “HD”—who at the time was just three months shy of her 18th birthday—was underage. Luckily, fundamentalists in the area have yet to legalize the punishment of stoning as retribution for sexual crimes, so Imperial and her husband were simply released on $50,000 bail shortly after their arrest. They face up to ten years in prison, if convicted.

LESSON OF THE DAY: Make sure your exotic dancers are legal, ok? Or, at the very least, keep your mouth shut if they’re not. (KIDDING!)

And by the way, since when are 33-year-olds considered “cougars”? Relative to what—12-year-olds? There’s NO WAY that I’m less than ten years away from being a cougar…FTS!

New Porn-Finding Tool SurfRecon Releases

Posted by r4m0ns | Adult Business,Announcement,Legal,News | 11:55 PM

SurfRecon has released in beta its new SurfRecon Law Enforcement Edition rapid-image-analysis forensic tool.

SurfRecon LE allows law-enforcement agents and others to rapidly analyze, detect, review and report on any pornographic content that may exist on a suspect computer.

“We are very excited to finally offer the software to the law enforcement community,” said Matthew Yarro, vice president of marketing for SurfRecon. “We think it is an invaluable tool. The application fits on a thumb drive, is very easy to use and works on almost any Windows, Linux or Apple computer.”

According to SurfRecon, its mission is to develop “tools that minimize the harmful effects that repeated exposure to pornography can cause.”

SurfRecon LE is comprised of a cross-platform, Java-based software application along with an International Forensic Image Database (IFID) containing millions of known safe, sexual, pornographic and child-pornographic images that SurfRecon LE references.

“By leveraging the IFID, SurfRecon LE not only makes the ‘haystack’ smaller, but finds many of the ‘needles’ for you, leaving far fewer images that must be manually processed,” Yarro said.

SurfRecon analyzes the content of a suspect computer, pre-categorizing images as “safe,” “sexual” or “child pornography.”

The application contains obfuscation tools to “minimize the impact of repeated exposure to pornographic and child-pornographic images …. to preserve the mental health of those individuals who must view these disturbing images and enhance their ability to quickly scan, review and identify illegal content.”

“No one wants to be the person that has to look at this garbage, but someone has to do it,” Yarro said. “Hopefully by managing the impact, we protect individuals, their families, and the investment that an organization has made in them.”

U of M Students Get 30 Minutes of Pirates II — And Worldwide Fame

Posted by r4m0ns | Adult Business,News | 11:54 PM

Officials at the University of Maryland may have thought their “porn problem” was over with the cancellation of a showing of Digital Playground’s Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge at the College Park campus student center on Saturday night, but in fact, it was just beginning.

As noted in AVN’s previous coverage , on Monday, state Sen. Andrew Harris (R-Baltimore County) had threatened to amend the state’s capital budget bill, which had just cleared the legislature on Friday, to strip the entire state university system of $424 million in construction funding if the U of M allowed a campus organization, the Student Power Party, to screen the multi-award-winning movie in one of the lecture halls that evening.

Hot House Cash Planning Its Launch This Weekend

Posted by r4m0ns | Adult Business,News | 11:52 PM

Studio to offer affiliate program for 2 membership sites.

Hot House Entertainment plans to unveil affiliate program Hot House Cash during Internext this weekend in Las Vegas.

The San Francisco-based gay porn studio will offer the program on its two new membership sites, The Backroom and The Dungeon, with payouts up to 50 percent.

The company plans to introduce new affiliate manager Alan Breslaw at the show. Breslaw will be on hand Sunday night at two invitation-only parties at The Palms Casino Resort to meet and greet existing and new affiliates.

The first party will be co-hosted by CCBill, Maleflixxx, and Hot House in the Sky Villa Suite, followed by the second party sponsored by Adult Webmaster Empire, Epoch, Cybersocket, GAYVN, NakedSword and Hot House in the Playboy Hugh Hefner suite.

“Between Alan’s sales experience and the consistent level of excellence in Hot House products, I have no doubt that the launch of Hot House Cash will have been totally worth the wait,” said Brent Smith, Hot House’s vice president and creative director.

Hot House is one of the few studios that releases its new movies in membership sites first before making them available on DVD or broadcast.

Hot House Cash plans to offer affiliates a wide selection of tools to drive traffic to the sites, including Flash video players, hosted video and photo galleries and banners.

The End of Affiliate Commissions?

Posted by redrose | Adult Business,News | 2:38 AM

The newest Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox include a privacy feature that has a lot of webmasters concerned about losing their monthly affiliate commissions. “Private browsing” will prevent browsers from retaining browsing history, temporary Internet files, saved passwords, search history and — of greatest concern to webmasters — cookies.

Cookies are used by most affiliate programs to track which affiliate referred a surfer, so when they are erased by the browsers, affiliates no longer will receive signup credit if the surfer joins a site at any point in the future. As a result, the existing business model will need to adapt — and pronto because IE 8 and Firefox 3.1 are scheduled for final release by the end of March.

The purpose of private browsing is to prevent any information from being retained after the browser is closed — i.e. nothing is written to disk. Microsoft and Mozilla avidly promote that private browsing has many different use cases, such as researching a medical condition or shopping for a surprise birthday gift. But in actuality, there’s only one major use case: porn surfing. In fact, tech bloggers already have dubbed the feature “porn mode.”

Private browsing is not the default setting on any browser; users have to enable it by pressing a button or selecting it from a menu. When enabled, the browser launches a new session and copies all existing cookies into memory. Any new cookies acquired during the session are deleted when the session ends. This basically reduces all cookies to “session” cookies that expire when the user closes the browsing session. In terms of affiliate marketing, affiliates mostly will have to rely on users clicking on an affiliate link and signing up during the same browser session. If a user clicks on a link before beginning a private session and signs up during the session, the affiliate still will get credit. But if a user clicks on a link during a private session and signs up anytime afterward — for example, an hour later they open a new browser in either private or nonprivate mode, then sign up — the purchase won’t be tracked.

Time Warner Expands Metered Internet Coverage

Posted by redrose | News | 2:36 AM

BEAUMONT, Texas — Time Warner is continuing its march toward metered Internet usage, and they’re getting criticized for it.

Last year, Time Warner experimented with bandwidth caps in the guinea pig city of Beaumont, Texas, imposing anywhere from a 5GB to a 40GB limit on the total amount of data users could transfer online. Going over meant an extra dollar paid for each offending gigabyte.

Apparently that test was a success, because Time Warner is expanding it. They’re expanding it into four new cities: Rochester, N.Y., Greensboro, N.C., as well as Austin and San Antonio.

“We need a viable model to be able to support the infrastructure of the broadband business,” Time Warner Cable CEO Glenn Britt told BusinessWeek. “We made a mistake early on by not defining our business based on the consumption dimension.”

Industry professional Media of AdultDevelopments.com told XBIZ that he would be in danger of hitting a bandwidth cap ceiling because he does so much work from his home office.
